Likely concert frenzy in the Minnesota Summer of 2012

I talked about Target Field's first ever concert come July 8 2012 with country music superstars Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw. However, there are now plans in place by Live Nation to attract a crowd of about forty thousand people to a type of festival on Harriet Island in the city of St. Paul.

On top of this, there are also continual rumors of a Madonna concert at the University of Minnesota’s TCF Bank Stadium. The pop singer has already been confirmed to perform in the Superbowl in February and is working on her album that is due for release next year.

Live Nation is the world’s top concert promoting company and they are looking for an event that will rival neighboring Chicago’s Lollapalooza. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, promoters have already stated that the festival will be much better than the Taste of Minnesota that Minnesotans have gotten accustomed to every summer which ended last year. The Taste of Minnesota has been reported to have been deadbeat and also the running the event has not been financially feasible for the officials.

Live Nation’s event which should have more details coming out soon will be from June 23-24 and should be a great treat before the much anticipated first ever First Avenue festival in Minneapolis. So there is much to look forward to if you will be in the Twin Cities in the summer of 2012 with all the outdoor concerts that have been scheduled. I for one am greatly looking forward to it!
